MontereyMonterey Bay Aquarium, Vision Quest Ranch: Wild Things & The San JoseTech Museum Date: November 12, 2010 A 12 hour day trip to the south takes students sightseeing and experiencing the Monterey and South Bay areas. Students head down to Monterey and begin at either the Vision Quest Ranch: Wild Things in Salinas or the Monterey Bay Aquarium before visiting the other. At Wild Things, students will spend time up close and extremely personal with a collection of over 100 animal movie and television stars; elephants, zebra, leopards, mountain lions. hyenas, camels, lions and tigers and bears, oh my! At the "World's Best and Most Famous Aquarium" students will begin with a 45 minute hands-on Discovery Lab before wandering to view the jellies, tuna, rock and coral reef fishes, sharks, sea otters, penguins and multitude of other ocean animals on display and eating lunch. Then we head up to San Jose and the spectacular Tech Museum to view the exhibits and watch an I-Max movie (TBA) before heading home. MSES has worked to secure the lowest possible rate of $6.00 per hour or a total of $72.00 for this trip; which is comparable to most day care! *Space is limited to 100 students and approximately 12 parent chaperones; as always chaperones are FREE.
